Our family, Mark, Bonnie, Aaron, Daniel, Rachel and Steven, takes an active roll in preserving, protecting and fostering the Vizsla and Wirehaired Vizsla.
We are still actively involved in local and national Vizsla Clubs as well as Specialty Clubs organized to educate the general public on the history, behavior, health and other information regarding Vizslas, Wirehaired Vizslas and other sporting breeds
.
Over the past 30+ years, we have owned or bred some of the top show and obedience dogs in the United States under the "KOPPERTONE" kennel name. This includes Best in Show winners, Multiple National and Regional Best in Specialty Show winners, Westminster winners, and multiple group winners. Our Vizslas have shown their versatility by earning titles in the show ring, the field, the obedience ring and the agility arena. In 2012, we brought Minnie (2XBIS, Multiple BISS, Koppertone's Classical Minute) out of retirement and in a less than 12 shows she earned her Grand Championship in Style with 6 Best of Breed wins and 3 group placements from the Veterans class. (Including 2 Best in Specialty Shows) Minnie is our first Grand Champion and in January 2015 her daughter, "Ditto" (Koppertone's Hott Pants) earned her Grand Championship with Aaron Goodwein on the lead.
In July of 2010 we adopted our first Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla. He was a Hungarian import from the Zoldmali Kennel. Izzy arrived in the US when he was 8 weeks old.
In August 2011 we adopted our second WHV, CH Vidor's Grace Under Fire. "Kenna"
In July 2012 we adopted our third WHV, CH Zoldmali Oliva, "Olivia" Best Opposite Sex 2015 Westminster Kennel Club
In October 2016 we adopted our fourth WHV, GCH Zoldmali Remek, JH " Remy" Ranks in the top 5 in Conformation and NOHS.
In 2019 we adopted our fifth WHV. Zoldmali Lujza. "Lucie" She is maturing nicely and has already earned her JH title and look forward to showing her in the conformation ring.
On July 2, 2014, the Wirehaired Vizsla became fully recognized by the American Kennel club and is now part of the Sporting Group. On July 4th 2014 Izzy, became the first WHV to earn a Best of Breed at an AKC All Breed Show. Izzy is also the first WHV to earn both a Conformation Grand Championship and a Senior Hunter title. In November he was the first WHV to be awarded an Owner Handler Series Best in Show. In January 2015 Izzy became the first WHV to be awarded a Sporting Group 1st placement (BIS) at the Rainier Sporting Dog Association Winter show. In February 2015, Izzy was the first WHV to win Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show and Olivia went Best of Opposite Sex.
We have had two litters of Wirehaired Vizslas with puppies pointed from both litters.
Since 1980, our passions have evolved into a dedicated program structured to educate and support the betterment of the Vizsla, Wirehaired Vizsla and the world of purebred dogs.
